blunt essays with sharp points
Oct 25, 2001 7:11 PM–A woman’s hormone chemistry is most like a man’s when she is pre-menstrual.
Let that sink in for a moment.
Why are men, generally, more aggressive than women? Why must men, at an early age, learn to “tough up” and wall in their emotions, lest they break out in an irrational fit of violence? Where does the blood-lust come from?
Relentless pre-menstrual tension.
Healthy relationships depend upon compassion. Any woman wants her man to be compassionate when she’s pre-menstrual—and the same goes for a man. The next time your man zones the world out around him, or can’t talk about his feelings, show some appreciation. He’s trying not to be bitchy. Next time he gets into a fight with a neighbor (or a neighboring country), cut him some slack. It’s that time of the month.
After a week of hormonal stress, women get a three week vacation. Not men. But, like women, men can be soothed at any “time of the month” by expressions of love and compassion. Instead of getting exasperated, take your relationship to a new, more mutually satisfying level. Calm your raging, ragging man with flowers … music … food … loving words … affection. Don’t underestimate the therapeutic power of orgasm. The hormonal ebb-tide of post-orgasmic bliss is most men’s only waking relief from a lifetime of male PMS.
